About mot.report

mot.report is an independent UK used-car analysis tool. We pull the full DVSA MOT history for any vehicle by registration plate and turn it into a report you can actually act on: plain-English fault analysis, condition and risk scores, mileage credibility checks, and pre-purchase guidance specific to that exact vehicle.

Why we exist

The DVSA already publishes MOT history for free at gov.uk. The problem is that raw data list of advisories and failures is hard to interpret. Was that brake-pad advisory acted on? Did this car have recurring suspension issues? Are the worst findings normal wear or a warning sign? We answer those questions, in £4.99 per vehicle.

What we don't do

We do not run finance checks, write-off checks, theft checks, or plate-change history. Those need different commercial datasets (Experian, HPI, etc) and start around £19.99 a check. We are complementary to those services, not a replacement.

How we make money

One-off £4.99 reports. No subscription, no upsell traps, no commission games. The same data goes into every report and there is no premium tier for the same vehicle.
