How it works
Type in any UK registration plate and we pull the full DVSA MOT history for that vehicle in seconds. The free check shows you headline scores and the basics (make, model, fuel, advisories count). For £4.99, you get the full breakdown: every test, every advisory, every failure, with plain-English explanations and pre-purchase guidance specific to that car.
What's in the full report
Condition and risk scores from 0 to 100 derived from the actual test history. We don't make these up: every advisory, every failure, and how previous owners responded to them all feed into the calculation.
Plain-English fault analysis. "Five advisories" tells you nothing. "Brake disc wear flagged in 2022, repeated in 2023, then a major fail in 2024" tells you something. Every escalation is called out.
Mileage credibility check. If a car's mileage progression looks suspicious (a clocked car, or anomalous jumps between tests), we flag it.
Common-issue overlay. Documented known weaknesses for this make and model, cross-referenced with what's actually shown up in this vehicle's history.
Pre-purchase checklist. Tailored to this exact car, not generic. If the history shows recurring suspension issues, the checklist tells you what to physically inspect or ask about.
What it isn't
This is an MOT-focused report. We don't run finance checks, write-off checks, or stolen checks. Those are services like HPI Check (£19.99) which pull from different commercial datasets. We're complementary: most buyers want a quick, cheap deep-dive on the vehicle's actual mechanical history before deciding whether the full HPI is even worth paying for.
